Toolbar Icons and Menus
NoteTaker has the following icons that can be placed in your Notebooks' toolbar for handy
access to tools you use frequently. You do this with the Toolbar preferences, as described in
"Build Your Own Toolbar" on page 132.
Colors Opens a panel where you can choose
colors for page backgrounds, outline entries,
selected text, tabs, page-title areas, and a color
for highlighting text. See "Format Text in Outline

Cover Shows or hides the notebook's cover.
Create Hyperlink Opens a panel for creating:
A link from selected text or an outline entry, to
anywhere else in any notebook (see "Create
Hyperlinks to Other Pages" on page 32)
A link to a Web URL (see "Add Web Links to an
Outline" on page 102)
A pop-up text annotation and end note (see
"Add Text Annotations (Footnotes) & Endnotes"
on page 42)
A voice annotation (see "Insert a Voice
Annotation" on page 96)
A link to an AppleScript command (see
"Automate Workflow with AppleScript" on page
52)
Email Page Folio Attaches the current page or
section to a new Mail Compose window. See
"Email an Outline, Folio, or Notebook" on page
113.
Email Page Text Inserts the current page's
outline or selection within the outline in a new Mail
Compose window. See "Email an Outline, Folio, or
Notebook" on page 113.
Find Panel Opens a panel where you can search
for text within the current notebook, or within a
library of notebooks. See "Highlight and
Summarize Outline Entries" on page 76.
Fonts Opens the Fonts panel for setting the look
of text in your notebook. See "Format Text in
Outline Entries" on page 58,

Highlight & Summarize Opens a panel for
highlighting and summarizing entries based on text
they contain, any assigned category or priority, the
date they were created, whether they're flagged,
or all of these criteria. See "Highlight and

Insert Contact Opens a panel for inserting one or
more contacts from your Apple Address Book into
the current notebook. See "Import Your Apple
Address Book" on page 89.
New Page Inserts a new page after the current
one.
Notebook Drawer Opens and closes the Drawer
for viewing and controlling the Contents, History,
and Libraries views.

Page Folio Creates a separate notebook folio
from the current page or section. Also allows
assembling a new notebook from pieces of other

Page Mark Creates a shortcut to a page or
section that you can place on the desktop or Dock,
in the Finder, or in another notebook or application.

PDF File Opens a panel for saving the current
page as a PDF file and placing it on the desktop or
Dock, or in the Finder. See "Save a PDF File" on
page 118.
Plug-Ins Opens a menu of Java applets that are
inserted in a new entry, after the currently selected
entry. See "Add Java Applet Plug-Ins" on page 49.
Preferences Opens NoteTaker's Preferences
panel where you can customize all kinds of aspects
of working with notebooks. See "Personal
Preferences" on page 121.
