Add New AppleScripts
You can add your own AppleScripts to NoteTaker's Scripts menu, or download new scripts from
the Aquaminds Web site as they become available. Here's how to install scripts you either create
yourself or download.
1
If they don't already exist, add either or both of the following folders to the Finder:
~/Library/Scripts/NoteTaker (which is in your home folder) or
/Library/Scripts/NoteTaker (at the top level of your computer's file system).
2
Go to www.aquaminds.com/scripts.jsp and download any demo scripts that aren't
already in your Scripts menu. Place them in either of the folders you created above.
Placing them in your home folder's Library folder makes them available only when
you are logged in, while placing them in the computer's Library folder makes them
available no matter who is logged in. If you place scripts in subfolders, they'll appear
in submenus.
3
If your new scripts don't appear in NoteTaker's Scripts menu, go to NoteTaker's
General preferences and uncheck the Include AppleScript menu option, then check
it again. This refreshes the menu with new scripts. You might also have to quit
NoteTaker and start it again to see new scripts.
New scripts aren't read in until the first time you open them. Also, the first time a non-compiled
script is executed, it gets compiled. Note that it's most efficient to save new scripts as "run only"
from the Script Editor.
For more information, see "Automate Workflow with AppleScript" on page 52, and go to
www.aquaminds.com/scripts.jsp.
